Shakespeare’s 450th Birthday Commemoration

For some, the plays and poetry of William Shakespeare seem complex and outdated but few other writers have left such an indelible legacy. On April 23, Shakespearean aficionados across the globe will celebrate his 450th birthday. Kate Bligh, instructor in the Department of Theatre, can discuss working with Shakespearean actors. Kevin Pask and Meredith Evans, professors in the Department of English, can discuss Shakespeare in academia. Matthew Hayes, instructor in the Department of Cinema, can talk about modern film adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays.
