Students in the news
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- Laura Stewart, an animation student at Concordia, appeared on CBC Mainstreet PEI to discuss her short animation called “Just A Mess.” The film uses the history of PEI paying a bounty for skunks from 1932 – 1964 in an effort to decrease the population as inspiration.
- Salima Punjani, a student in the Department of Journalism, appeared on CBC Homerun to discuss her project called My Montreal, Our Values.
- University Affairs discusses the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE), a new video-based science journal, which allows science academics to publish how-to videos of current scientific research to help scientists reproduce results in their own labs. The article quotes Denise Wernike, a PhD candidate in the Department of Biology, who is excited about the prospects of the platform and was introduced to JoVE by her supervisor Alisa Piekny, professor in the Department of Biology.
- The National Post reports on the difficulties some students are having when they try to register to vote and mentions Concordia film student Malory Beazley.
