Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- The Montreal Gazette publishes an op-ed, in both the hard copy and online, written by Théa Demmers, dietician at the PERFORM Centre, that discusses why restaurant chains shouldn’t be required to post calorie counts on the menus.
- Le Code Chastenay featured a segment with Ahmad Kayello and Daniel Baril, graduate students in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering. Kayello and Baril are testing housing for the KOTT Group in Concordia’s Environmental Chamber. The project is being supervised by Paul Fazio, professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering and member of Concordia’s Centre for Zero Energy Building Studies.
- An op-ed in The Montreal Gazette looks at how people are worrying about the health of the English language for centuries and quotes Harold Simpkins, professor in the Department of Marketing, about how English-language reporters are “misleadingly referring to ‘general contracts’ as ‘entrepreneurs.’”
- The World Financial Review publishes an article written by Rick Molz, professor in the Department of Management, about the conflicts and incompatible interpretations of multinational corporations working in different countries.
