Researchers in the news
The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- Research conducted by Devorah Neumark, a doctoral graduate in the Faculty of Fine Arts, is featured on RCI. Her study suggests that a powerful way to overcome the traumas associated with home-destruction and reconstitute a sense of home is to engage in house-beautification practices.
- Research conducted by Lea Katsanis, professor in the Department of Marketing, in collaboration with recent John Molson School of Business graduate, Erica Leonard, is featured on Health News Network. Katsanis and Leonard found that pharmaceutical companies are using the same marketing strategies as consumer-focused companies such as Apple, Coca-Cola and Harley Davidson. Her research also appears in Phys Org, Science Daily, Science Newsline Medicine and Medical Web Times.
- The Université de Sherbrooke issues a research release about ice skates that can measure climate change. The release mentions research conducted by Damon Matthews, a professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, about the effects of climate change on outdoor ice rinks.
