Researchers in the news
The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- The New Scientist features research conducted by Damon Matthews, professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, that found that seven countries account for more than 60 percent of the global warming between 1906 and 2005. This study is unique because it assigns a temperature change value to each country that reflects its contribution to observed global warming. Bloomberg also publishes an article on Matthews’s research, which is carried by Bloomberg Business Week, The San Francisco Chronicle, Democratic Underground (China), Inagist. Le Devoir and La Presse+ also carry the research. The research also appears in Clean Biz Asia, Top News India, Daily Me, Free News POS, Z News India, Authint Mail, Smash News Hits India, Science Codex, Reporting Climate Change and Ecologica (Italian-language publication).
