- Yves Gélinas, professor in the Department of Chemistry, and a team of geochemistry researchers affiliated with the Université du Québec à Montréal, l'Institut national de la recherche scientifique and the GEOTOP research group has just completed the first detailed study to examine the natural quality of groundwater prior to fracking: Science Codex and Silo Breaker. Actualités UQAM also issued its own research release on the subject.
- Matthew Harsh, professor in the Centre for Engineering in Society, will be among three co-principal investigators studying the development of computer science in Kenya and Uganda. The research team received a National Science Foundation grant this fall to launch the two-year study: Arizona State University News and TMC Net.
