Students in the news
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- The Montreal Gazette features an article about Welcome to Alexis Nihon a 30 minute documentary by George Karkour, a student in the Department of Communication Studies. The short documentary focuses on his Syrian-Canadian friends and family, many of whom happen to live in the downtown apartment building adjoining the Place Alexis Nihon shopping centre.
- The Suburban interviewed Katie Nelson, a student in the Department of Philosophy, who is suing the City of Montreal accusing them of political profiling. Nelson was fined approximately $7,000 as well as being arrested dozens of times over the past two years.
- Olympic gold medalist and freestyle skier Alexandre Bilodeau, a student in the John Molson School of Business, is interviewed by Le Journal de Montréal about attending the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sotchi, Russia.
- The Algemeiner features an article about the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA). The article quotes Michelle Soicher, a CAMERA Fellow and Concordia student.
