Balancing neighborhood development and gentrification

Norma Rantisi, a professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, and Deborah Leslie from the University of Toronto, examined how public spaces impact the development of the urban landscape. Their study explored the development of Mile End, a Montreal neighborhood located north of downtown, which has become home to various cultural industries: 24h Montréal, Canoë, Métro Montréal, Physorg.com and Science Daily. Rantisi was also interviewed on CJAD and CBC Radio International.
