Homeschooling study continues to gather attention

Posted on September 19, 2011

The Huffington Post, CBC News, New American, Yahoo! News and Psychomédia report that researchers from Concordia and Mount Allison University have found homeschooling — as long as it’s structured or follows a curriculum — can provide kids with an academic edge. Led by Sandra Martin-Chang, a professor in the Department of Education, the study established that homeschooled kids could gain a half-grade advantage in math and up to 2.2 grade levels in reading compared to their peers in the public education system.
