John Hastings doesn't regret giving up a life in theatre for the stand-up comedy circuit. The 26-year-old Ottawa-born comedian studied in the Department of Theatre and planned to be an actor, but the comedy thing got in the way. "I just didn't like it (theatre). I'm just not built to be an actor, and I have big problems taking huge swaths of direction, especially in a theatrical setting," said Hastings, who began his comedy career as part of the Nepean High School improv team,” he told The Ottawa Citizen.
