Julia Ferreira, Leesa Hung, Victoria Lalonde, and Nicolas Lindstrom were the undergraduate students who represented the John Molson School of Business at the 16th edition of the Global Business Case Competition (GBCC), held at Seattle's University of Washington between April 7 and 12. The Concordia team reached the finals.

“This is one of the world’s premier competitions. We returned this year because we were last year’s winners,” says Mark Haber, head coach and advisor to the competition program. “I want to thank Amr Ezzat who coached and accompanied the team as well as lead coach Nora Barionian and coaches Ludovic Jacques and Valentine Vaillant.”

According to Ezzat, the JMSB delivered a stellar performance. “They are winners in my eyes,” he said.

Participating teams were given 48 hours to come up with a comprehensive set of recommendations for Nike in how to deal with a number of issues:  moving manufacturing away from China and into other countries, implementing traceability of the supply chain for collegiate apparel, and building awareness of Nike's commitment to sustainability and improved labour practices.

The Concordia team won its division but ultimately did not win the competition in which second and third place winners are not announced.

The JMCC thanks Mark Haber for his commitment and his contribution to the program.

The Committee would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Exclusive Title Partner PepsiCo Foods Canada, Premier Partners Pfizer Canada, Maxi and Power Corporation of Canada, Database Sponsor PODIO, and Associate Partner Canderel for their support and encouragement of the case competition program.
