Undergraduate students Antoine Audy-Julien, Ahmad Jaber, Charles Lachapelle and Melissa Marginson represented Concordia’s John Molson School of Business at the annual John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC), which was held between February 16 and 22.

Teams were divided into six four-team divisions and competed in a head-to-head round-robin in the first round. This was followed by a research case, where each team was given 24 hours to prepare and was then scored individually.  The division winners then went on to compete against one another, making the same presentation. The team from JMSB was knocked out in the preliminary round by the National University of Singapore (NUS), who ultimately went on to win the competition.

“The quality of the competitors was amazing and there were strong teams in every division,” says Head Coach and Advisor to the Competition Program Mark Haber. “I still quote Danielle Brissette-Lalonde, a participant from a couple of years ago, who said that in the end, ‘it is about the experience, not the results. We got the opportunity to meet teams from all around the world, get positive feedback from many different judges, coaches and other teams, see Montreal in a new light and got to know each other on a whole new level. That is what it is all about. That is what made our JMUCC experience unforgettable.’"

“I also have to say that this was a very well-run competition,” adds Haber. “Congratulations to the organizing committee. All in all JMSB was represented well at all levels. We should be very proud of our school.”

The John Molson Competition Committee would like to thank Coaches Christian Bonneau and Valentine Vaillant for their stellar work.

The JMCC thanks Mark Haber, head coach and advisor to the competition program for his commitment and his contribution to the program.

The Committee would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Exclusive Title Partner PepsiCo Foods Canada, Premier Partners Pfizer CanadaMaxi and Power Corporation of Canada, Database Sponsor PODIO, and Associate Partner Canderel for their support and encouragement of the case competition program for their support and encouragement of the case competition program.
