PTZ Camera Operation

These instructions apply to spaces that are equipped with a Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) camera and a conference mic to facilitate remote teaching and learning.

The PTZ camera is only accessible through the local computer.

In order to control the camera:

1. Click on the Camera Icon in the dock to open the control software.

2. If the button at the top says "Disconnect" you can already control the camera with the directional arrows and magnifying glasses.  If it says "Connect" then continue on with the following steps.

3. Click on the cog in the top right of the control panel to open a pop-up window.

Here you can change the speed the camera moves and zooms. Clicking on the cog connects the camera even if you don’t change anything.  Please do not change any settings other than the PTZ speeds.

4. Close the pop-up window and click the Connect button; the button now says "Disconnect". You can now control the pan and tilt of the camera with the directional arrows and the zoom with the magnifying glasses.

In order to use the camera in the application Zoom for live streaming and video capture:

1. Sign in to your Zoom account.

2. Prior to starting a session click on Zoom Workplace in the top left of the computer screen and then on Settings… in the drop-down menu..

3. ...click the Video and effects tab and select HuddleCamHD from the Camera drop-down menu.

5. Click the Audio tab and select Crestron from the Speaker drop-down menu and HuddlecamHD from the Microphone drop-down menu.

If you have any problems with the set up you can call the EV Depot at 514-848-2424 ext 3438.  An operator can walk you through the settings to try and fix the issue.
