PhD Alum Recognized at the Société des Musées du Québec Gala
Samuel Gaudreau-Lalande (PhD, 2023) received the Relève 2025 award from the Société des Musées du Québec.
This award recognizes the institutional transformation Samuel led at the Colby-Curtis Museum for the past six years, which includes an administrative and financial turnaround, the creation of two new departments and the development of landmark projects.
The Relève award celebrates the ambitious vision Samuel has for the Colby-Curtis Museum since his appointment as Director and Head Curator in 2019. This includes having the Museum anchored in its rural community, with socially impactful projects for the region, and having these projects be accessible and of high calibre.
Read Samuel's PhD thesis "Une rhétorique du banal Le Service de ciné-photographie du Québec et la modernisation rurale, 1940-1961," under the supervision of Dr. Martha Langford on Spectrum.
