FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Concordia student-led research group kicks into high gear with goal of exploring issues of ethnicity and cultural representation in the visual arts.

Montreal-September 7, 2011 - The Ethnocultural Art History Research workgroup (EAHR) is the newest initiative to join the rich landscape of student research activities at Concordia University. EAHR is a 100% student-driven working group that seeks to increase the visibility and support of students and faculty from diverse cultural communities who are invested or interested in engaging with ethnocultural art histories research across various disciplines.

Through year-round activities such as guest lectures by art professionals, exhibition visits, discussion groups, critic's circle and curating exhibitions, EAHR aims to facilitate fun, friendly opportunities of exchange and creation that examine issues of ethnic and cultural representation within various levels of Canada's visual art scene.

Central to EAHR is fostering a sense of community to further multiple levels of contact and eliminate isolation between ethnicities, disciplines or stages of one's career... EAHR welcomes all students and faculty.
