In November 2013, Lenore Vosberg, executive director of the Centre for the Arts in Human Development, was awarded a Miriam Foundation "Heroes Among Us" award for her work in increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and developmental disability.

In her work at the Centre, Vosberg provides a setting for therapeutic programs in the creative arts therapies, facilitates student education and training, and educates the public by creating awareness of the abilities of persons with special needs.

The Miriam Foundation is an organization dedicated to ensuring that greater insight and new research will improve the quality of life for all those affected with ASD and developmental disabilities.
