Cinema's film festival news

Cinema faculty and students are on the move this fall, making their mark on the film festival circuit.

Assistant professor Shira Avni's latest film, Petra's Poem, will be screening at the Sommets de l'Animation, along with three students films:  Alisi Telengut's Tengri, Hamish Lambert's 01 and  Constance Lévesque's Encré en soi.

Two students were awarded prizes at the YoungCuts festival for their films: Audrey Meubus (animation) for Sweet Tooth and Francesca Abbondanza-Bergeron (film studies) for Mugged-tassé.

Finally, two films by animation students will be screening at  the Stop Motion Festival, run by part-time instructor Erik Goulet: Kamil Chajder's Snore Train and Tyler Nicolson's No Noodles.
