Emilia Angelova Publishes New Book on Hegel
Emilia Angelova edited a new book, "The Necessity of Freedom in Hegel's Turn Between Logic and History," published by University of Toronto Press, in 2025.
Description: The Necessity of Freedom in Hegel: Logic, Phenomenology, and History explores Hegel’s claim that freedom is not just an abstract ideal but a necessary foundation for philosophy itself. This collection of essays examines how Hegel’s system connects logic, history, and rationality, shaping the meaning of historical development through the actualization of conceptual necessity.
Emilia Angelova is Undergraduate Program Director and Associate Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University. She regularly teaches courses on 19th Century philosophy, including Hegel, as well as French feminist philosophy.
