From June 18th- 20th, MIGS will be offering a Professional Training Program on the Prevention of Mass Atrocities. The three-day event is being presented for the second time, and offers attendees a series of thematic sessions and training modules presented by internationally-recognized experts in the field of human rights and international affairs. The program has received mention in the Guardian Newspaper.

On May 14th Lt. General Romeo Dallaire will give a presentation on leadership and conflict resolution alongside the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education at Brookdale Community College.
On April 23rd Kyle Matthews and Marie Lamensch gave presentations at Ottawa’s Second Annual Youth Conference titled “Face the Facts, Inspire the Change” for the National Day of Remembrance and Action Against Mass Atrocities.
On April 27th MIGS’ Director Frank Chalk gave a speech on “Genocide Denial: From the Armenian to the Rwandan Genocide,” at the 99th anniversary commemoration of the Armenian genocide, hosted by the Armenian National Committee of Quebec.

On May 7th Marie Lamensch participated in a round table co-organized by Canadian Research Institute on humanitarian crisis and aid (OCCAH) and Médecins Sans Frontières on “Nouveaux théâtres d’opérations humanitaires: des zones urbaines aux pays à revenus moyens”.
