Joey has published his latest work on probing heteroleptic Zn(II)-terpyridine compounds for ligand-to-ligand charge transfer states in the Canadian Journal of Chemistry. The outcomes of this project were realized through some serious tenacity on Joey's part, where characterizing and confirming the structure of a small series of heteroleptic compounds and relating it to their photophysical properties (both in solution and solid state) proved (and still somewhat remains) to be non-trivial. Joey, together with undergraduate researchers Kiersten and Taylorjade and postdoctoral researcher Adrien found that these compounds exhibit intense photoluminescence when arrested in a polymer matrix. Congrats, Joey!
