Dr. Dorothy Williams to teach Black Montreal at LCDS

The Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability is thrilled announce that renowned local historian Dr. Dorothy Williams will be teaching a new special topics course entitled LOYC 298-02: Black Montreal this coming fall. The course recognizes that much of the city’s early Black history is unknown and that even today, the current knowledge of the Black experience in Montreal continues to be fraught with myth and misconception. Thus, this course is largely designed to introduce students to the major themes, issues, and debates in Montreal’s Black history from its origins until today. This course can count towards the Minor in Diversity and the Contemporary World and can also be taken as an elective. Contact Rebecca Tittler at the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability for more information or if you require help with registration (loyolacollege.fas@concordia.ca).
