The session welcomed nearly 20 participants, including Concordia students and staff as well as members of the broader Montreal community, such as students from other universities and working professionals. The invited speaker, Ms. Reina Sakao (also known as Madame Matcha), is a fourth-generation tea practitioner.
Drawing on her personal and professional experience, Ms. Sakao provided insights into the past, present, and future of matcha and Japanese tea culture. She also offered a brief demonstration of cha-no-yu (the Japanese tea ceremony).
