Honours student, Mathias Blais-Savoie, to receive a Next Generation Scholars Award!

Dr. Sarah Ghabrial's Honours student, Mathias Blais-Savoie, has just learned that he was chosen to receive a Next Generation Scholars Award (formerly CUSRA), with a total award value of $9200.

These scholarships are awarded to Concordia students of very high standing for the pursuit of independent research projects, under the guidance of a Faculty sponsor, over the summer. Building from an interest first sparked in Sarah's 200-level seminar last winter on the history of the Global War on Terror, Mathias has independently developed a very promising and sophisticated Honours thesis project on the history of French counter-insurgency measures against FLN fighters in metropolitan France during the Algerian War of Independence.
