Naftali Cohn
Associate Professor, Concordia University

Naftali Cohn is Associate Professor of Religion at Concordia, currently doing research in Israel. Professor Cohn will present a narrated slideshow and analysis, bringing to life the ancient places and archaeological artifacts encountered in his current research in Israel. With special focus on the issues of geography, living space, and women’s everyday lives, Cohn will explore the relationships between ancient texts and ancient material culture, revealing the benefits — as well as the challenges — of using archaeology for the study of Rabbinic Jewish culture in the early third century.
