We’re excited to share that the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) and its partner, the Secrétariat à la jeunesse du Québec (SAJ), have awarded more than $5.3 million for the renewal of the Chaire-réseau de recherche sur la jeunesse du Québec (CRJ), a province-wide research initiative focused on youth.

Since 2018, Concordia University has played a key role in the Chair, particularly in the area of Indigenous youth research.

“As part of this renewal, we will continue our collaborative and co-produced research to support the empowerment and visibility of Indigenous youth,” says Natasha Blanchet-Cohen, professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences and co-lead of the Indigenous Youth stream of the Chaire-réseau de recherche sur la jeunesse du Québec.

Over the next five years, the co-leads will continue their work across the following streams:

  • Health and Well-being (Martin Goyette, ENAP)
  • Education and Culture (Eddy Supeno, Université de Sherbrooke)
  • Employment and Entrepreneurship (Maria Eugenia Longo, Institut national de la recherche scientifique)
  • Citizenship and Environment (Nicole Gallant, Institut national de la recherche scientifique)
  • Indigenous Youth (Natasha Blanchet-Cohen, Concordia University)
