Two moose walk over a misty clearing in the forest while geese fly above.

Join us and the authors in discussing a work that “gifts readers with a mapping of a communal future grounded in Indigenous concepts of caring, relationship, solidarity, and a sharp analysis of the present,” (Leanne Betasamosake Simpson) and “advances a holistic, radically reasonable vision of a future worth fighting for” (Avi Lewis). The End of This World: Climate Justice in So-Called Canada presents an alternative to the scorched earth reality of colonial capitalism: a new economy based upon ecological restoration and the revitalization of human spiritual integrity.

The initial presentation will be followed by a panel with local organizers speaking about their experiences and their views on changing the political weather and converging towards a just transition while building a caring economy.

Admission is free and the event is presented in hybrid format

We acknowledge that we are on the unceded territories of the Kanien'kehá:ka. It is important for us to acknowledge the land that we are on as cultural & community organisers and as people that benefit from the ongoing colonisation of Indigenous people on Turtle Island and around the world. We are thankful to be here and give gratitude to Indigenous folks who are consistently on the frontlines for the wellness of the water, the planet, and all of our relations. We encourage all to further educate themselves and act on these long and deep histories on Turtle Island.

This event is part of a week of programming for Earth Day 2023.
