This training is offered by GradProSkills. It is only open to current graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. 

Advanced registration required.

A quick and simple introduction to the Linux operating system. During the session we will practice Linux commands by building a setup for capturing photos on Raspberry Pi computers (provided). This workshop is for beginners with little to no experience working with this free and open-source OS.

By attending this workshop, participants will:

  • Get an overview of different Linux distros (versions).
  • Install a Linux system on their existing system (using a VM).
  • Understand the basics of working with the Linux operating system (file structure, command line).
