This training is offered by GradProSkills. It is only open to current graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Advance registration is required.

Your graduate thesis is not only the final product of your research, but also a document that demonstrates Concordia’s fulfilment of its mission to create and disseminate knowledge. As an official Concordia document, your thesis needs to meet certain requirements.

This workshop will review the different kinds of theses (research creation, manuscript) and the different requirements your thesis needs before submission to the university. The workshop will also cover important deadlines and procedures for thesis submission.

Students who are in the writing stage will benefit from this workshop; during the workshop, participants will be given time to begin planning their own timeline and submission plan.

After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the formal academic committee and structures involved in thesis submission;
  • Describe the different kinds of theses, and special considerations for each;
  • Identify important deadlines for thesis submission;
  • Begin planning their own thesis timeline leading up to their defence and submission.
