Starting a PhD can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially as students navigate new expectations, systems, and communities. The Doctoral Peer Mentorship Program, offered by the School of Graduate Studies, supports first-year doctoral students through structured peer mentorship groups led by trained senior PhD mentors. The program helps students build connections, confidence, and clarity early in their journey.

This 1-hour information session will:

  • Introduce the goals, structure, and impact of the Doctoral Peer Mentorship Program

  • Highlight how the program complements existing academic, professional, and wellness supports

  • Feature insights from current mentors about their experiences supporting peers

  • Provide opportunities to ask questions and explore how this model can benefit students or departments

Whether you’re a new or incoming PhD student, a faculty or staff member supporting doctoral students, or someone interested in student success initiatives, you’re welcome to join.
