Practical Microservices

Microservices? Cloud? Cloud-Native Development? We hear them often and they are everywhere in the industry these days. What are they? What's the deal with them? Why should you care?

If you are interested or simply curious about any of these, come and join us. In this workshop, we will attempt to demystify and offer you a practitioner's perspective on what they are and why do they matter. You will have a chance to get your hands dirty and build your first Java microservice using Eclipse MicroProfile and Open Liberty, an open programming model and an open-source application server for microservices, as well as to dive deeper into various aspects of microservices!

This is a great opportunity for students to participate in a workshop which includes a presentation, demo and hands-on lab.

(Introduction to Containers with Docker and Open Liberty workshop is on February 15th at 6:30pm.)

Please note this workshop has not been coordinated by Concordia University or CAPS Concordia - all questions should be directed to the organizers.
