Faculty members from all disciplines are invited to join us on Thursday, August 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., for a workshop on Data Management Plans (DMPs).

DMPs are an important first step in enhancing the impact of your research. By putting yourself in a position to be able to share your research data, you will enable future discoveries and allow your research to live on well past the end date of your project.

This workshop will cover the current state of Tri-Agency DMP requirements in Canada, explain what DMPs are in more detail, provide examples, and review tools and resources you can use to help you write an excellent DMP.

To prepare for this workshop, you are encouraged to:

  1. Create an account in DMP Assistant. This tool contains discipline-specific templates that can be used to help simplify the process of creating your DMP.
  2. Consult some of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada’s DMP exemplars to get a feel for the kind of information that DMPs include.
  3. You can also have a look at this brief guide on creating an effective Data Management Plan
