Do social interactions feel stressful and intimidating? This five-session skills group is designed to help you build confidence and ease in connecting with others. Across the series, you’ll learn and practice strategies for:

  • Having more meaningful conversations,
  • Expanding and strengthening your social network,
  • Using digital communication effectively,
  • Navigating conflict with greater success, and
  • Managing social anxiety

Each session combines useful information with hands-on activities, so you can practice new skills right away. Between sessions, you’ll be encouraged to try things out in real life and share what worked (and what didn’t) with the group.

The workshop dates will be held in person on Thursdays September 18, 25, October 2, 9 & 16.

Because sessions build on each other, students are strongly encouraged to attend all four sessions; registration for individual sessions is not available.

Facilitators: Eric Widdicombe & Lisa Tomlinson, counsellors

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you require disability related accommodations, please contact lisa.tomlinson@concordia.ca at least one week before the workshop to allow us time to coordinate your request.
