Do you want to strenghten your financial literacy skills? Join Nelson Vallacorba, representative of the Canadian Bankers Association to learn the fundamentals of budgeting, saving and investing, using credit responsibly and keeping your money safe.

Your Money Students was created to bring financial literacy to life in homes and classrooms across Canada. Developed in collaboration with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, this free, one-hour, non-commercial seminar is designed for students to help them develop an understanding of responsible financial management as they prepare their transition to enter the workforce.

Your Money Students seminars are presented by bankers in the community volunteering their time and are available across the country in English and French. The program has been a centerpiece of the CBA’s financial literacy efforts for more than two decades, providing youth with the fundamentals of:

  • Budgeting – choosing your goals and working towards them;
  • Saving and investing – the benefits of compound interest and saving for the future;
  • Responsible use of credit – how to manage credit and avoid credit traps; and
  • Keeping money safe – recognizing fraud in our increasingly digital world and how to avoid it

The CBA is an association that supports the banking industry in Canada, and also provides information to help consumers manage their financial affairs.

This presentation is also in collaboration with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC).
