The objective of GEE is to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas and recent advances in the field of geoenvironmental engineering, and to give students and young researchers the opportunity to present their work to a national and international and expert audience.
Since its inception in 2001, GEE has been held annually in Korea, Japan, Canada and France. In 2024 it was held in Kyoto. It was last held in Canada in 2019 at Concordia with more than 70 participants from several countries including Japan, South Korea, France and Canada. It is expected that a similar audience will attend in 2025.
The event is organized by symposium chair Catherine Mulligan and the co-chair Chunjiang An.
