Centering a wide variety of positionalities, contemporary heroes complicate and expand frameworks for ethics, values, and what it means to be human and heroic. This international, interdisciplinary conference brings scholars into conversation on the nature and role of heroes in popular culture in all its media expressions, and on the influence of hero stories in contemporary society.
