Suffering is usually treated as something to get through and then leave behind, a stretch to recover from or to withstand. Nature offers us another view: that what breaks down does not vanish, and that the material of a hard passage can feed whatever grows next.
Linda Purcell Satchell calls this transmuting suffering into valuable compost as we emerge into a new chapter. She treats it as a creative process rather than a clinical one, a strategy she uses for herself as much as with clients, as a way to catapult us into growth. The work of sitting with difficult feelings is where it starts, but not where it ends. Her discovery is that loving, and feeling loved and safe, gives us the ground to enter a deeper state of what she calls heart intelligence, and the resources for our expansion and our capacity to flourish.
In this session she will offer a taste of a meditation to access that state of being, drawn from the heart-based practice of the "Awakening the Illuminated Heart" workshop. To flourish, in Linda’s experience, is to live in alignment with your own integrity: to learn, to grow, to expand awareness, accessing the areas of the heart where the universe resides. Finding and fulfilling your Self is to live a flourishing life, and it comes from offering yourself in your highest capacity, from a place of excitement and joy. Come prepared to dive into some of your own life composting!
