Antoine Beauchesne

Antoine Beauchesne is a designer torn between user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for applications and video games. Born and raised in Montreal, he quickly grew fond of technologies and software because of their ability to help people in a plethora of ways.

Unsure of where he wanted to work in the field of multimedia, Antoine did a DEC in multimedia integration where he learned about web and applications design, video games conception, video editing and sound design. Between working as a freelance for websites and making video games for fun, he decided to pursue a DEC-BAC in video games creation and software integration at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT).

This BAC opened the door to join the Master of Design at Concordia and work on a new challenge: lowering the level of complexity in emergent narrative games. To do so, Antoine intends to use data visualization to condense the large amount of information generated in simulated worlds. The project, titled Chroniqueur, is part of Lablablab and is currently being developed by members of Concordia and serves as a foundation for multiple types of research.

Thesis Title: Chroniqueur: Interface Design for Emergent Storytelling
