Translation and intercultural communication: Issues of translation production and reception; translation history and theory.
Literary studies: Analysis of French, Quebec and francophone literature; interactions with contemporary culture.
Pedagogical innovation: Development of hybrid teaching methods and resources for teaching languages and cultures.
Contributions and impact
Research carried out in the department aims to deepen our understanding of French and of francophone and Quebec cultures; to help students thrive in a competitive professional environment, and to contribute to wide-reaching intercultural dialogue.
Our faculty members regularly publish books and articles; edit collective volumes and special issues of academic journals, and take part in national and international conferences.
