CONCORDIA IMPLEMENTING A GAME PLAN GROUNDED IN NINE STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS
In May 2016, Concordia produced a Strategic Directions Game Plan that identified priority actions we plan to take to become a future-ready, next-generational university under our nine strategic directions.
This document is a result of the university’s strategic directions initiative, launched in January 2015. Read more about the process.
Year 1: 2016-17
In the first year of the game plan’s implementation, there was a remarkable level of engagement and with several accomplishments under each of our nine directions. Read more about our progress.
Year 2: 2017-18
To support the decision-making process in 2017-18, five guiding principles have been identified: position globally, partner meaningfully, integrate for impact, deliver on innovation and augment the student experience.
What’s next in 2017-18
Work will focus on five transformation projects with a sustained commitment to addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) through the work of the Indigenous Directions Leadership Group.
The group was created in late 2016. One outcome of their work is the articulation of a territorial acknowledgement, which is an expression of respect for Indigenous peoples as the traditional custodians of the land on which the university is located. Other accomplishments include the welcoming of elders to the Concordia community and the launch of the Indigenous Directions digital hub.
