Hey all, my name is Sarah and I am studying Studio Arts and Art Education here at Concordia! I love creating sculptures and painting, but when I'm not in the studio you can find me exploring the city, enjoying a good board game, or chatting with new people!
The one thing I wished I would have known back in my first term is.... Concordia is bigger than your department. I spent way too long staying in the same couple of buildings and not engaging with peers and events from other departments! Exploring a faculty that is not your own will open up new connections and different perspectives. Don't be afraid to branch out and try new things!
A tip for a new student is... Talk to people! Whether that's the classmate you sit next to, the professor who seems intimidating, or the person at the IITS desk. Concordians have so much to offer and you'll learn so much by reaching out to the people around you.
My favourite part of being a Concordia student is... Connecting to Montreal. There are so many opportunities to make this city your home through the connections you'll make and the events you attend. Being proactive is the best way to immerse yourself in this amazing city!
