Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is a European Union program that supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It provides grants for studying abroad for students and training for staff and faculty working at higher education institutions in Europe and abroad. This program also encourages institutional cooperation activities and mobility of young people and staff at the global level.

About Erasmus+

Launched in 2014, Erasmus+ builds upon the success of the original Erasmus program that was created in 1987. Encompassing a broader scope, Erasmus+ incorporates education, training, youth and sport, with the goal of promoting European cooperation and mobility in these fields. One of the program's aims is to foster cooperation with partner countries, including Canada, as well as to promote a wide range of educational opportunities for university students and staff and educational institutions around the world.

Erasmus+ has evolved to become more innovative, inclusive and digitally driven. It will also play a crucial role in shaping the European Education Area, slated for completion by 2025, with which the European Union aims to:

  • Ensure universal access to high-quality education and training for all young people
  • Facilitate seamless transitions for learners between education systems in different countries
  • Provide opportunities for employment across Europe

Erasmus+ programs

Erasmus+ helps organizations work within international partnerships and share innovative practices in the fields of education, training and youth. The program aims to give students, interns and staff the opportunity to stay abroad to strengthen their skills and increase their employability.

Participants who are selected for this program receive a grant through the Erasmus+ partner universities. Two of the main Erasmus+ programs that Concordia participates in are Key Action 1: Learning Mobility for individuals, and Key Action 2: Cooperation for Innovation and Exchanges of Good Practices.

Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals:

  • Supports mobility of students, staff and volunteers
  • Includes opportunities for student exchanges and staff training

Key Action 2: Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices

  • Focuses on strategic partnerships between organizations to foster innovation and exchange best practices
  • Involves collaboration in education, training and youth fields

Erasmus+ partner universities

Erasmus+ encourages collaboration with non-Erasmus countries through international partnerships and projects. Institutions in Erasmus countries can engage in joint initiatives, share best practices and promote mobility with non-Erasmus counterparts. This fosters a more inclusive approach to education, training and youth activities, enhancing global cooperation in the realm of learning and development. Helps organizations to work within international partnerships and share innovative practices in the fields of education, training, and youth.
