Concordia International has provided a list of the funding resources outside Concordia University you can explore to help finance your international experience.
Several scholarships are available to Concordia students seeking to fund their research or sojourn abroad. These scholarships are offered by the governments of specific countries to attract the best international researchers. Other funding offered by the government of Canada or foreign countries allows Canadian students or Quebec residents to participate in research or studies abroad.

Asia | Cansbridge Asia Fellowship | Each year, a cohort of exceptional Canadian university students are selected for the Cansbridge fellowship to self-organize internships in Asia with a scholarship valued at $10,000. |
China | Scholarships are awarded for academic study, research, Chinese language training or a combination of these activities. Scholarships are not to be used towards a degree in China. Scholarships are tenable at Chinese institutions that admit scholarship recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship. These institutions are marked by an asterisk (*) in the list of participating Chinese institutions. |

France | Le programme de bourses Sophie Germain du Consulat General de France à Québec | Bursary to attract early stage, Quebec researchers to conduct a short-term research visit in France for minimum of 1 month. Open to PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows. The scholarship is 2000€ and can be combined with other funding opportunities. |
Germany | German Academic Exchange Service -DAAD | The extensive DAAD scholarship database for undergraduates, graduate students, PhD candidates, Post-doctoral, and faculty offers a wide range of scholarships and additional Information to help make your stay in Germany a reality. |
Germany -Frieburg | Baden-Württemberg-Scholarship | The Baden-Württemberg Scholarship is only available for exchange students nominated to the University of Freiburg. Masters and bachelor students who are awarded the scholarship will receive 900€ per month. The scholarship is awarded for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 9 months. |
India | Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute - Shastri Mobility Programme | The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is a binational organization that promotes understanding between India and Canada through academic activities and exchanges. The broad-based initiatives support the creation of binational links between academia, government, the business community and civil society organizations by funding research and hosting seminars. Their internships and fellowships provide opportunities for individuals to gain first-hand experience in India or Canada. |
Israel | Masa Israel Journey | The Masa Israel program offers you the opportunity to join their international, multi-cultural community of thriving young professionals, including their career development programs, leadership training, and access to Israel’s ecosystem. Masa will subsidize your stay in Israel and ensure a seamless transition with housing, insurance, visa, program placement, and more. |
Israel | Goldie and Joe Raymer Travel Fellowship | Technion-Israel Institute of Technology The Goldie and Joe Raymer Travel fellowship provides students in any discipline with funding to attend Technion-Israel in Haifa. The purpose of this fellowship is to promote academic collaboration, student exchange and research internships between the two institutions. Israel | Naim Mehlab Student Travel Award | Tel Aviv University The Naim Mahlab Student Travel Award to Tel Aviv University is intended to encourage and reward students currently enrolled in any program of any Faculty at Concordia University and who have received an authorization to conduct study or research for at least one semester through the institutional academic exchange program between Concordia University and Tel Aviv University.

Japan | Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) | MEXT offers scholarships to foreign students who wish either pursue an undergraduate degree in Japan, conduct research or study Japanese language and culture in Japan. The scholarship programs are for long term programs of a minimum of 2 years. |
Japan | Japanese Student Services Organization (JASSO) | JASSO offers scholarship to qualified Concordia students who are accepted by a Japanese university, graduate school, under a student exchange agreement or other student exchange arrangement on a short-term basis from 8 days to one year between Japanese school and their home higher educational institution outside Japan. |
Mexico | Merit Awards for International Students | The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) offers funding for foreign citizens who are interested in studying for a specialization, master’s degree or doctorate, conducting graduate or postdoctoral research, or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate-level academic mobility program. |
South Africa | The Nature’s Valley Trust (NVT) | Nature’s Valley Trust offers hands-on experience in conservation through student internship programmes. The placements are designed to have you out in the field and actively involved in the conservation projects. |
Spain | Erasmus+ KA107 (Not available for AY2023/24) | Funding is available for undergraduate or graduate students taking part in an organized exchange program at the Centro Universitario de Artes TAI during the academic year 2022-23. The funding consists of 850€/month for five months + a lump sum for travel costs of 820€ for a total of 5070€. Switzerland | Université de Lausanne | SEMP World scholarship of 500 Swiss franks per month for up to 5 months (for one semester) or 10 months (for full academic year) is available to an outgoing exchange student attending Université de Lausanne as part of the CSEP program. |
Taiwan | Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship Program provides students who are interested in pursuing their undergraduate, graduate or Ph. D. degree in a Taiwan university. The scholarship covers up to NT$40,000 per semester tuition & miscellaneous expenses and a stipend of between NT$15 00-20 000. |

United Kingdom | Undergraduate Concordia students who have been offered a study abroad or exchange place at university in the United Kingdom which is BUTEX affiliated can apply for a one-time scholarship of £500. | |
United States | The Fulbright Program provides funding for graduate students, faculty, professionals and independent researchers to conduct research, lecture, or enroll in formal academic programs in the United States. |
