Meet Sabrina Akeb

I am a third-year Finance student who loves to travel and learn about new cultures. It was my first time visiting the UK and I absolutely fell in love with the country. My host university was the University of Manchester, but I visited other cities like London, Bath, Liverpool, and much more! My study abroad was fulfilling in many ways, and I recommend everyone to do one!

My experience abroad

I felt like I made a great decision to go on exchange when…

I realized how happy it made me to live independently, make new friends, and travel around the world!

Going on exchange challenged me because…

It was my first time living alone, away from my family and friends, for a long period of time. However, as days went by, I became more and more used to it and made new friendships!

The scariest part of going on exchange was…

The fear of being alone. While going on exchange can be solitary at times, it's important to get yourself out there and meet new people. It makes the experience 10x better!

A tip I would give to students applying for exchange is…

To carefully compare the countries you're interested in going, and to plan a budget according to your financial capabilities (if you'll be working or not, etc.).
