Meet Juliette Crouy

Hi! I am Juliette, I am an international Concordia student from France and I am a now fourth year Political Science student. I moved here in Canada to study because I love travelling to different countries, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people, which is exactly why I went on exchange! I spent my semester abroad in New York City, as it always was a dream of mine. I would recommend going on exchange to anyone who can, to put yourself out there, strive outside your comfort zone, and grow while enjoying a new country!

My experience abroad

My favourite part of going on exchange was…

Living on campus! I never expected to enjoy it this much but not only did it save me from the struggle of finding a place to live, it simultaneously offered a private space to live in, and a common space to enjoy spending time with my friends right next door! Having friends a walking distance away or in the same building as me was a game changer for my exchange, it cleared all fear I had of being alone during my time there!

A tip I would give to students applying for exchange is…

A bit too cliché, but to plan things out and do everything in advance. While it’s not a requirement nor necessary to succeed in your application, doing things like picking out your classes and applying for visa as soon as possible will truly get a weight off your shoulders! Especially when you’re already worried about how and if you’re going to enjoy yourself during your exchange, I say that from experience!Meeting people wont be an issue, everyone going on exchange is wanting to make friends and form connections with those around you, and there shouldn't be any fear on going to a new place alone because you will meet such lovely people!

The coolest place I visited while on exchange was...

Definitely the MET museum… No one could prepare me for how huge and beautiful it is. It took me multiple visits to see it all and even then I still want to go back to see everything again…And in close second place would be the bridges to Manhattan (Brooklyn bridge, Manhattan bridge, Williamsburg bridge)… All of them have beautiful views of the city and it’s always an amazing walk each way.
