Nolan Henry

About Nolan
Nolan Henry is an experimental artist and fabricator, living and working in Tiohtià:ke Mooniyang (Montréal, QC). Henry’s practice is centered on questioning social systems using sociopolitical analysis, data, site, mechanisms, and labour.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, he grew up in a small farmtown in Eastern Ontario. Influenced by blue collar heritage, he utilizes technical approaches to art making and social research. Henry has trained under master glassblower Matthieu Grodet (Orléans, FR), has apprenticed as a machinist with Mitch Mitchell (Chicago, IL), and is now assisting Jacqces Gallant (Montréal, QC) with a focus in metalsmithing and public art fabrication. He has been involved with the technical team at SAW Center and Pique music festival (Ottawa, ON) as well as Les Ateliers Belleville (Montréal, QC). His work has also been shown in various printed media exhibitions (Montréal, QC). Currently he is completing a BFA in print media at Concordia University with a focus on the integration of art in public spaces.
