What our artists say about their experience with Art Volt

Art Volt has helped me connect with the professional art circuit and acquire tools to comprehend it. The Art Volt experience has allowed me to think of how to pitch, network, price work, and what to look for in negotiating contracts with galleries or dealers. Programs like Art Volt are also crucial for prospective students to see that professional sustainability in art is possible, attracting people who otherwise would not have pursued an art career due to a lack of resources.

The Art Volt platform is such a great post-graduation resource! Working with the NFB as a director in my first few years after graduation is something I would never have even dared to dream of. Taking the first steps into the professional art world was perhaps the most intimidating task for me after graduation. Art Volt stood out as an invaluable resource, offering unique first professional opportunities, but most importantly, excellent mentorship that I could apply successfully to kickstart my career. The programs really bridge the gap between academic excellence and a professional artistic practice for Fine Arts alumni.

When I applied to Art Volt I didn't fully understand what it was and as we worked closer together, I can honestly say how happy I am to have taken that dive because the results have been phenomenal. It came at a time when my gallery representation just ended and the sales and opportunities that came out of art volt were equivalent, sometimes even surpassing, of what I had become used to. So thank you very much for accepting and supporting my work. It's been really amazing and I am just as grateful and honored!

Art Volt is an excellent resource for a recent graduate. It assisted me in navigating the Montreal art scene and introduced me to new initiatives. I am so grateful to have the curatorial residency program. I always felt like there weren't that many opportunities for emerging curators in Montreal. I'd always assumed that the opportunities available were for established artists. I've been seeing other initiatives, like Art Souterrain and Artch, accepting emerging artists. I'm glad to see that things are slowly improving and that more opportunities are being provided for emerging artists.

All to say thank you for all your work and dedication!

Collaborating with Art Volt during the Bouclair Residency in Digital Arts was a transformative experience for my personal creative practice and output. Their unwavering support and resources not only enabled me to explore new artistic avenues but also instilled a deep sense of confidence in my ability to carve out my own unique path within the arts sector, connecting the diverse mediums I work with. Thank you again for creating these opportunities! I truly haven't found another platform that creates so many exciting opportunities that are equally as impactful.
