Call for mentees
The Art Volt Mentorship Program is now accepting submissions for its pilot edition!
Students in their last semester at Concordia, or alumni having graduated within the last 3 years, are invited to apply to the pilot edition of the Art Volt Mentorship program. Applicants are welcome to apply as a collective, as long as all members of the group are recent graduates of Concordia University.
Selected participants will have an opportunity to develop their professional network and gain valuable insight from an established practitioner within their field.
Each selected candidate will be paired with a mentor. Over the course of the program, mentees will benefit from 8 one-on-one mentorship sessions which can take place in person or online.
All selected mentees will be required to attend an orientation session at the beginning of the program where they will be introduced to their Mentor. This session will also be an opportunity to learn about “best practices” in mentorship relationships, as well as other programs available through the Art Volt platform.
Mentees and Mentors will also be invited to attend a “Field-trip” event in which the group will visit different cultural organizations in the city. This will allow mentees to discover new resources and spaces in the city and meet with the professionals working in these organizations. Finally the field trip will be an opportunity for mentees and mentors to spend time together as a group, allowing selected candidates to further expand their network of peers.
Finally, the program will conclude in Fall 2021 with a mandatory wrap-up session in which mentors and mentee will be encouraged to share their feedback and experiences with the Art Volt team. This will also be an occasion to celebrate the close of the pilot edition!
Over the course of the program, selected mentees will benefit from the support of the Art Volt team, who will be available to meet and answer questions as needed. Art Volt will also perform regular follow-ups with both mentors and mentees separately to ensure that all parties have the best experience possible.
Applicants must be registered for graduation, or have graduated from Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, within the last three years.
Applicants are welcome to apply as a collective, as long as all members of the group are recent graduates of Concordia University.
The deadline to submit your application is Monday, June 15, at 5:00 p.m.
