BLACK PERSPECTIVES OFFICE
The Black Perspectives Office (BPO) champions and supports the inclusion of Black perspectives in teaching, research and learning.
Survey for faculty and staff
We're inviting Concordia’s Black faculty and staff to share feedback through a voluntary, anonymous, and confidential survey. The short questionnaire will help the Office understand workplace realities, identify recurring barriers, and support improvements that advance equity, wellbeing, and belonging at Concordia.
Our vision
The Black Perspectives Office envisions Concordia University as an institution where Black communities are fully engaged, and feel seen, valued and heard. We continuously strive to create a culture where the diversity of Black knowledges, experiences and identities are respected and celebrated.
What we do
The Black Perspectives Office is responsible for monitoring university-wide progress and partnering to deliver on recommendations from the Final Report of the President's Task Force on Anti-Black Racism.
The BPO provides confidential support to Black Concordians who are navigating the impacts of anti-Black racism. We follow a trauma-informed approach and focus on building awareness, addressing anti-Black racism, and creating lasting change.
The Office also oversees the Black Presence Hub, which provides access to workshops, programs and resources for students, faculty, and staff.
