Black presence

Concordia’s Black Presence Hub is a space where Black students, faculty and staff can access culturally relevant resources, services and more. It’s intended to foster flourishing, support, community, and knowledge sharing, both on and off campus.

In the spotlight

In Conversation with Civil Rights Activist Fred Anderson

Feb. 9 - The Black Perspectives Office hosts an inspiring and historic conversation with civil rights activist, author and community leader Fred Anderson, in dialogue with Concordia doctoral scholar and oral historian, Kelann Currie-Williams.

Black identity and presence

The term “Black” is used throughout the hub as an identifier that unifies the identities and experiences of Black, sub-Saharan African, Afro-descendant, and Afro-diasporic communities.

Members of these communities may or may not use the word “Black” as their identifier and may or may not bear visible markers from these communities.

Join us in celebrating Black excellence and fostering a supportive and inclusive campus at Concordia.
