The workshop “Black Identity and Belonging in Higher Education” is designed to help faculty and staff understand Black students' identity within the university context.
Its purpose is to:
- Provide a space for faculty and staff to reflect on experiences, challenges, and strengths of Black students, faculty and staff in higher education.
- Highlight barriers to belonging, such as microaggressions, underrepresentation, and institutional bias.
- Foster strategies for empowerment, well-being, and community-building among faculty and staff.
- Encourage faculty and staff to recognize their role in creating inclusive spaces
